Brass Without Weight

Life is rhythm; and while brass can sound broken at times, with God as our music, He can create a living symphony with our that is attuned to this world.

As with anything in life, it starts with an idea, then we find ways to understand how to bring it to life, then we place it upon our hearts to create it and create it diligently. I want to stress out the book of John’s first verse, it really just means that before we even were and before we even came to this point, God thought about us, He understood us and given us all the things in order for us to be able to take part in His kingdom.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Then we come across terms like this the brass of all these vessels was without weight; at first it seems like it’s nothing and without meaning and yet it shows what kind of vessels they are, brasen people who aren’t afraid of the truth, supporting the house of God and yet just like brass, they are durable, malleable and most of all in resonance with the heart of God. Yet they are lighthearted, easy to approach, without malice and truly offer themselves to God.

Similar to my previous posts about the significance of numbers, the verse also matches the numbers, 5 by itself is a chalice or cup, 5 together with 2 forms a heart, 2 can represent being lifted or offered to God and 0 represents completeness. Do also notice that twelve was the number of disciples of Jesus.

Jeremiah 52:20
The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

Now a new temple was built on top of this context and concept, which took otherwise forty-six years to build physically. Jesus was condemned for that seemingly obnoxious remark, that was due to how they perceived God, and yet we always do the most of what we have, according to the gifts and grace that God has provided us. Such that like brass, we can conform to whatever time, space, and situations that we are in. Knowing that His grace is sufficient daily and His love for us will renew the beat of this seemingly flat-lining tune.
