Confirmation of Music

Some scripture just pops up to you all of a sudden, and we find it just fits like a puzzle piece into a topic that I wrote about previously. Lamentations 3:63-66 matches an anti-thesis of who Jesus is and what He did for us on the cross and what it means to be attuned to God.

Lamentation 3:63 - Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick. The work that Jesus did was really hard. Words were said against Him that tried to destroy His reputation, and lies were said against Him. And yet He persevered, knowing that Your word is the music that leads them back to salvation.

If, for example, you know that the only way to salvation was by sharing with them the truth and creating a covenant that leads to forgiveness rather than their destruction. Would you bear the scoffers and ridicule? Imagine being an ambassador and a messenger for a government, and then we get provoked into a confrontation instead of being a messenger of peace. There is a certain alignment between the messenger and the country, thus the term “don’t shoot the messenger” exists. It is as if a declaration of war against God, the promise of peace, then won’t prosper. Yet sometimes we do dumb things because we don’t know, thus the grace that was done on the cross is the ultimate offering to try to appease our Lord.

Imagine if we don’t have the Bible, if we don’t have a way to align ourselves to who God is. We probably will believe other things, and we could get lost because our knowledge of God is too distant from His true nature. This is because we don’t really know to whom we should listen. We probably hear different voices that once tried to take advantage of us or even lied to us. Our confusion and our way could only be redrawn back if we start listening to voices that match the truth and the scripture that backs it up.
