Flavored Salt

Interpreting salt can lead towards one of the most intense roller coaster ride of life. It should not be taken lightly as it can define the course that we need to take part in. Pride and power can be a difficult thing to curb, but Jesus overcame that by being blameless and obedient towards God.

Salt, on one hand it gives flavor to what otherwise could be a bland meal, on the other hand a more than sufficient dose of salt can be harmful to our health and could make food inedible. Salt plays a lot of roles within our society, though nowadays, salt is used a lot in terms of feedback, the adage “rubbing salt into someone’s wounds” is prevalent if not the norm, it seems as if society tries too much to press upon people a piece of their own thoughts and opinion. The outcome becomes varied opinions that contradicts with each other and does not really solve the problem; salt instead becomes an abrasive that creates wounds that doesn’t seem to heal.

Matthew 9:16
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
Matthew 9:17
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

If we then receive the spirit of God, and truly accept the truth that we indeed are from Him, then and only then can our hearts be renewed, not only are we renewed but also succeeding generations are renewed as we present to them our new selves; Creating a culture that reinforces true Christian values thus giving us the power to sanitize pestering wounds through renewal rather than flavorless salt. The healing then starts with our perspective, our thoughts and what truly makes us human… our life. It is self actualization first, knowing where it is that we came from in order for us not only to patch but accept fully receive the covering of the Lord.

Matthew 9:22
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
