Foot of the Master

Peace? Is it even possible? What is it like to wear the shoes of peace, the medium to which we can promote our identity and our message of peace?

The human feet is odd and yet they are the things that get us from one point to another, our primary way to transport the body to another location. On biblical thoughts, however, feet symbolize more than just that, because at the foot of the creator, we are made alive. It is also an action of humility that gives gratitude to the one that has redeemed us. When we mature, however, we figure out that it isn’t always a peaceful world, and the challenge is for us to maintain a love for truth while retaining the peace and heart that the Lord Jesus Christ imparted to us.

Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

I keep on insisting and trying to push the message that though covenants are said to be “everlasting” within scriptures, they can actually break. It all boils down to how we treat each other and how this world actually values the Spirit of the covenant. As we read through scripture, however, we can and will encounter some that puts forward questions, “are we still doing the right thing?”, “until what degree can we push scripture”? These gray parts of scripture can cause one’s heart to darken, as we use scripture as if it is a license to sin. When we know more, we can drown ourselves into accepting that it all really is just vanity, that all that we do matters little to nothing compared to all that is wrong with this world.

Ruth 3:14
And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.

And yet meaning still keeps scripture alive and builds up the individual for us to realize the world that God envisioned. A hope that keeps us from drowning into despair, unknowns that keep us in awe, but most of all a living Spirit that keeps us honest with ourselves. Using this eye, it gives us the perception of purity, and what it means to be human, that even when life happens to us, we can choose what is pure and what is true to our nature. We are created good and virtuous, and if we continue to believe that He will do His part.

John 13:8
Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

I guess being at the foot of the master is this: to be part, to be redeemed, and to impart the truth so that we could in turn do our part with Christ. Our salvation, healing, and redemption are not just words that Christians say; it is what we believe, not just for show but for us to influence and reimagine what it truly is to bring heaven on earth from point to another, from one life to another, no matter which space and time.
