Still Small Voice

We fail to see perfection because we tend to disobey; our sin and our ways blind us to what God can do and what this world can be with Him at its helm.

1 Kings 19:12 - And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
To listen, and hear the one voice that speaks directly to our heart.

It is interesting to hear God’s voice. When we become attuned to Him, we suddenly see things differently, as if a veil is lifted from our eyes. And yet even after hearing God and knowing God, He is not there. He controls a lot of things, and yet He still leaves it to us to obey or not. It is the part of us that seems to nudge us towards a correct path.

This is to say that His path will always be the correct one, because He would not have created us if He would just lead us astray, right? But there is always a but. We either can’t due to circumstance, or our way of living currently demands a different thing from us. But God, if taken out of the picture, then allows us to suffer the consequences of our disobedience. This is to say that His thoughts are higher than ours and would always try to create harmony amongst His subjects. A small act of defiance can resound and create dissonance that spans beyond our lifetime.

Through all of this and throughout scripture, He continues to make right our disobedience towards Him. Thus, He creates a beauty that can only be fulfilled by Him. Not through might, or power, or any other means, but through spirit and guidance.
