Commit To Memory

Vanity is a common theme of this world nowadays. People seem to understand that all the things that happen now are just a masquerade; a world of illusion that tries to varnish the truth with layers of half-truths. Mire is the world that we traverse day to day.

My simple prayer to You, Lord, is that I would not forget:

Forgetting the reasons, forgetting the purpose, forgetting the meaning.

The mind knows, but the heart falters, not because of lack of resolve;

But because the world drowns Your truth, they try to hide it away.

Darker days have come, and the gloom starts to set in.

What was once flavorful honey, now turned to bland gruel.

The symphony of the praise, now became vain tunes;

Are Your promises nothing more to us than empty words?

Renew this place, oh Lord, revive my soul, pour sweet wine onto my lips.

Help my heart remember the beat that You placed in the womb;

Make me see the light of the world that brought wonders to my eyes,

Oh Lord, give me the endurance to pursue the world that it was meant to be.
